  2. Body language is a very important way of comunication, actually is more important than the speaking, sometimes is not about what you are saying but how you are comunicating your ideas to the people you are talking with. Have you ever wonder why some people is able to convince you about something while other couldn't convince you about the same thing? , is how your body talks about you , and your emotions .

  6. Body language is a form of communication, for this reason is very important. When we are relating to a person, not only our words will tell ideas, thoughts or feelings but also the movements with our bodies, gestures and attitudes. It is the perfect complement of what is transmitted with words, in order to give a clear message, also can express discomfort or welfare through bodily presence. So, moving from side to side while talking to someone, it may mean despair. Or if you yawn, boredom. Or if you don't look to the eyes may mean that you are distracted. For this reasons, body language can become more important than words, because it says something about us and what others perceive.

  7. Body language is a way for you to communicate with other people and express, in an easier way, what you are thinking or feeling, that's the reason why you can understand what others are trying to show you, by their body movements or facial expression. I'ts important to know that body language varies depending on the culture you are in, because what can be a demonstration of a good manner in Colombia, can be offensive to people in other country. Due to all these reasons, i'ts impossible for someone not to have body language because even animals communicate by looking each other or through the position of it's body.

  8. In our culture, body language is very common because people in Colombia used to be expressive when they talk and it also facilitate the communication between them. Even though it is ordinary to use body language it depends on each person the way they use it. It is part of our personality. That is why we can find people who gesticulate or use their hands more than others.
There are some regions where people communicate more with their body language than others.

  10. Expressing ideas, feelings and thoughts is important for all humans as social beings who communicate each other; though the spoken and written languages make a message clear, people have used their body and gestures. This form of communication has a special role in relationships because in some cases words are inappropriate and a gesture or sign can occurs unconsciously, when it happens the meaning is different depending on the situation and it can create a whole pattern of behaviour from a person.

  11. The body language is not a new topic to consider in the language. Actually it was one of the first ways developed by the human been to comunicate each other when he could not talk; so with this in mind, it is incredible, how after many years, in fact after many centuries we continue using it. Nowadays it is common to see conversations without any word, but there are exceptions, formal conversations like interviews.

  12. Are words ever enough to express how we feel? Or do we need our hands, our eyes or even our entire body to really transmit an emotion. “An image is worth a thousand words” is an expression we usually hear and it’s not entirely wrong. It’s been demonstrated that what we project with our bodies is around 70% of what we intent to transmit. It can be a tool to create better communication or a weapon used against us. For example when somebody is accused of committing a crime a polygraph is used during the interrogation to tell if they’re lying. The movement, the looks or even the muscle contraction can reveal to others what we are trying to hide. Body language is a reflection of our mind and it can be altered in different mental illness. Just by observing we can learn a lot about people. So it’s important to pay attention not only in what we hear but what we see when talking to somebody. Keeping in mind that what we communicate comes not just from our mouths but from our whole body.

  13. Body language is the common way to communicate to other people, sometimes not exist a word to said something for this way is very useful. This way to communicate depends of the country, cultural aspect or the context, for this reason exist man forms for boy language, for example a simple sign with the hand can be understand in different way in each country. Other important aspect is the way that we use the body language because regardless our origin place this form of expression could be our first impression for other people.

  14. i am agree with Pedro Acero about the important role of human body language since the beginning of our specie. This is the reason why there are many types of body gestures that are used for different purposes, related with the different times and social contexts, in which the Homo sapiens had been living during all this years.

  15. When we talk about body language we think it just as a tool to complement our speech, also as a way of communicating something else with our own body that words cannot transmit on its own, and being subordinate with someone else´s gestures.

Of course there´s an importance about that, but we can think more deeply on the subject, analyzing where this gestures come from, questioning about our families patterns concerning the movement´s features and understanding our way of communication with others from this point.

In a parallel study we can go within the endless variety of artistic ways that consider the body language as a unique way of communication and transformation pushing aside speech as a basic and obvious ways of contacting other human beings and also other living species.

The profound study will consider some of these practices such as improvisational theatre, butoh dance, contact improvisation and animal interaction among others. This will lead us into a parallel between exploring the precedents of our natural body language and the practices that let us transmute and reformulate our primitive relation with ourselves so that we can reconnect not only with our own inner voice but with each others.

  16. Body language is a vital way of communication that we often ignore, knowing how to use body language will help us a lot in our daily life since it can be used in virtually all our interactions from work meetings to romantic dates, Body language will let you reinforce anything you are trying to express for example if you are meeting with a potential employer is important to keep a good posture and give a firm handshake (this conveys professionalism and trustfulness) all while looking him in the eye and greeting him in a polite manner all of this accumulates and may be the difference between getting the job or losing it another instance of body language may be in a date, if you know how to read it you may know if she is interested in you (fondling with her hair, touching you lightly or smiling) or if she's uncomfortable this is expressed in looking away from you when talking or crossing her arms. In conclusion body language should be taken into account when we are interacting with other people this way we can have an advantage over people who ignore it and avoid some pretty awkward situations

  17. Matching what you want to express while you are talking and the way that your body is behaving is a difficult thing to do. Controlling your body language is an important skill that must be developed by every person that wants to give a certain impression of themselves in different situations of their lives.

For example in an interview is important that your body shows confidence because is a characteristic that you want people to notice in you. Also when giving a speech your body should not move a lot, if you are all shaky it may give the impression of being nervous and not being well-prepared. Even when you are talking to your partner or a friend you may want to be perceived in a specific way.

Knowing how to control your body language is as important as knowing how to speak. Is something that we all should learn how to handle, unfortunately is not very easy, that is why some people are better at communicating than others.

  18. I disagree with the video, how people interpret a specific signal is based on their understanding, one considers as a sign of humor another may consider as insult.

For instance, a hand signal of "Do you want to eat?" in India, have a very rude meaning in Italy, the middle finger means nothing in some culture. All in all, in order to be polite and respectful, one needs to know well before giving a speech.

Beside, the idea of the speech is much more important than the body language that go with it. so if you have trouble with controlling your movements, just focus on the main target, as long as you have a solid result to present, appearance is not a big deal.
